Buy & Cellar at TheFinestBubble
Fine wine will only retain its value if the wine is allowed to mature whilst the risks of any faults developing is minimised - optimum storage conditions are therefore imperative. The most important factor to consider when storing champagne is a constant temperature as champagne is a lot more sensitive than wine and should be stored at a constant 10-12°C, in the dark, free from vibration and not too much humidity or labels fall off!
Storage:
A bonded warehouse enables goods to be stored free from UK duty and VAT, until they are ready for onward delivery. This method of storage is known as 'In Bond'. All our champagne & wines, including wines held on behalf of customers, are stored at London City Bond Eton Park based in Burton-on-Trent.
London City Bond Eton Park is a 19th century Grade II listed building, which could have been a purpose-built cellar. Metre thick solid brick walls provide reliable insulation, minimising alterations in external heat and light alongside the most technologically advanced climate control equipment. The latest camera technology permits online digital photography to be used to thoroughly check all items necessary for condition reports.
The ground floor is dedicated to merchants moving stock and deliveries, whilst the upper floors house customer's private wine reserves, where they can be laid down securely and largely undisturbed for many years. Cases are clearly labelled with an individual lot number, specific to its owner, and the well organised computer system makes each case instantly locatable. TFB insures its customers stock within our charges.
