Description & Technical Information

In 1947, seven well-established and visionary winegrowers came together in a joint quest for ultimate perfection and founded Champagne Palmer & Co. The founders bought the cellars of a Champagne House in Reims in 1959. Over the years, the cooperative has spread past Reims and now owns an impressive 450 hectares of vineyards, over 200 of which are classified Grand and Premier Crus. Uniquely, Palmer are one of the only producers to ferment all champagnes in the bottles they are sold in. In 2015, their range underwent a name change, to now include the term Réserve, which better represents their long ageing periods and inclusion of reserve wines.

Paying true homage to the potential of reserve wines, Amazone de Palmer offers an unforgettable tasting experience. The uniqueness of its style, the exclusive selection of Premier and Grand Crus from the Montagne de Reims aera, the very long ageing in the chalk cradle of our cellars, hand-riddling and the stuning oval-shaped bottle, Amazone de Palmer is in all respects a truly exceptional champagne.

Palmer ID: L21591| Each bottle of Palmer & Co can be identified by the ID on the back label. This enables you to discover the story of that very bottle. You can do so using the smartphone App or on the Palmer & Co website.

William Kelley
“A new prestige cuvée from Palmer, the debut release of the NV Brut Amazone is a blend of the 2012, 2010 and 2009 vintages, complemented by some 19% reserve wines drawn from a perpetual reserve, and it's equal parts Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, all from the Montagne de Reims. Offering up aromas of crisp yellow orchard fruit, freshly baked bread, crisp nectarine, oyster shell and subtle hints of the biscuity complexity to come, it's medium to full-bodied, pillowy and seamless, its fleshy core of fruit girdled by ripe but racy acids and complemented by a pearly mousse. Disgorged last year with six grams per liter dosage, it's an impressively complete, well-structured wine that will be even better with a few years on cork.”

“A lovely note of fresh Viennoiserie is as fragrant of butter as it is of lemon. Beneath that is a fresher, cooler note of green apple and wet chalk. The palate picks up that rich pastry note and adds lively lemon zest and a sense of creaminess. This is elegant, concentrated and vivid with very fine mousse. Lovely depth adds extra dimension and gives much length to the fresh, bright finish.”
