Description & Technical Information
In recognition of the subtle differences between each annual non-vintage creation, Champagne Jacquesson number their non-vintage cuvée every year. Jacquesson Cuvée 742 is based on the 2014 harvest with grapes originating from Ay, Dizy, Hautvillers, Avize and Oiry. The Pinot Noir from Ay and Dizy and the Chardonnays from Avize were particularly successful in 2014. The base harvest is complemented by the addition of 20% reserve wines from the previous two years. The champagne was vinified on the lees in oak barrels with no filtration or fining. 222,044 bottles, 9,902 magnums and 300 jeroboams were produced.

Weather: 2014 saw a warm and dry spring leading to many predicting a later harvest in August, July was damp and cooler so the ripening process was slowed. September was warm and the grape varietals were ready to be picked in a close time. Picking was around ten days.

Tasting Note: Distinct grapefruit and ripe apple flavours with strong lees character. Packed full of fruit, lots of apple and lemons with hints of gooseberry all combined with hints of both toasty oak and creamy pastries with underlying freshness from the acidity, all very well balanced.

Slightly beery nose with lots of personality and stamp but not exactly finesse. Good tight definition. Very long. Tight texture. Still rather young.”
