Champagne Dom Perignon Overview
Dom Pérignon 1990: An intensely hot summer with little rain produced the third largest crop on record and this vintage is astonishing. Initial floral impressions give way to aromas of honey and brioche. On the palate: this is intense and complex, leading to a long-lasting finish.
Dom Pérignon 1995: This season was marked by an exceptional summer. Spring was dull but rapid flowering at the end of June due to an unexpected heatwave created a remarkably good vintage. The palate is full of fresh almonds and apricots and an incredible tension lasts throughout until the long and fruity finish.
Dom Pérignon 1996: An intensely fruity and creamy champagne from an incredible harvest. Famous for producing high-sugar and high-acid grapes, this complex champagne is a delight, with a great depth of fruit and citrus notes.
Technical Information:
Vineyards: 100% Grand & Premier Cru
Grape Varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir
Ageing: 8 years on the lees
Dom Pérignon Three Vintages Case includes three 75cl bottles as described, presented in a beautifully crafted and branded black wooden case (as shown in the pictures on the left).

“1995 - Very green. Real autolysis character – very Dom P, very flattering! Surprisingly sweet on the palate though which jars a bit. Or is this just the richness of the vintage? Certainly this is the easiest wine to drink so far in the tasting… Very persistent mousse. Lots of interesting components all in balance. Quite long.”

“1990 - Expressive, smoky and somehow even reductive - even at this age! So characterful. Bready, rich, savoury and salty - has a bit of umami / soy character - distinctive and substantial. (RH)”

“1996 - 50% Pinot Noir, 50% Chardonnay.
Pale straw. Surprisingly light nose. Then a lovely, sprightly, highly developed, reasonably rich palate. This tastes so much older than it smells! There’s even a little bit of very slightly decayed fruit on the end. Creamy texture and very satisfying on the palate but a little bit disappointing on the nose. Definitely ready to enjoy.”
