The house was founded in 1798 by Memmie Jacquesson. Jacquesson is small producer based in Dizy, Champagne. Only Champagne Salon is smaller of the elite houses. Production is around 280,000 bottles per annum and are made with 78% of grapes from their own 28 hectare estate, the rest is bought in from growers. The 28ha domaine comprises 11ha in Avize and Oiry, some 13ha spread over Aÿ, Hautvillers, Dizy and Mareuil-su-Aÿ and a further 4ha in the Vallée de l'Ardre (a tributary of the Vesle, north-west of the Marne). Current owners, brothers, Jean-Hervé and Laurent Chiquet recently changed methods to be organic, almost all Jacquesson wines ferment in old, large-sized oak barrels, which yield little wood aroma to the wine.
In recognition of the subtle differences between each annual non-vintage creation, Champagne Jacquesson number their non-vintage cuvée every year. Jacquesson Cuvée 743 is based on the 2015 harvest with grapes originating from Ay, Dizy, Hautvillers, Avize and Oiry. The Pinot Noir from Ay and Dizy and the Chardonnays from Avize were particularly successful in 2015. Picking started at Jacquesson on 10th September and ended on the last day of the month. The dominant harvest of 2015 is complemented by the addition of 20% reserve wines from the previous two years. The champagne was vinified on the lees in oak barrels with no filtration or fining. 215,330 bottles, 10,013 magnums and 302 jeroboams were produced.
Weather: A wet winter and mild spring gave way to an exceptionally dry summer from mid-May onwards. Hot weather prevailed until mid-August, when the skies opened again. Rains gave way to fine, cool, yet sunny weather for the first two weeks of harvest, which commenced on August 29th. The 2015 vintage has a lot of common denominators with the 2003 vintage but the 2015's are showing a better balance of weight and freshness with their average potential alcohol level of 10.5% and total acidity of 6.9g/l . An average vintage where a few will excel.

In January 2023 Champagne Jacquesson was bought by the wine company Artémis Domaines owned by François Pinault, French billionaire businessman currently ranked the sixth richest person in Europe.
Previous owners, brothers, Jean-Hervé and Laurent Chiquet place a huge emphasis on the quality of the vineyards. Recently methods have changed to be organic, almost all Jacquesson wines ferment in old, large-sized oak barrels, which yield little wood aroma to the wine. Instead of being limited to labelling their non vintage champagnes NV, Jacquesson have decided to change the name of their cuvée every year. The first cuvée under this new concept was 740, created from an internal bookkeeping system.
