Champagne Laurent-Perrier Overview
The vintage is made from prestigious Crus of 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir. The Pinot Noir comes from the Montagne de Reims: Verzy, Mailly, Ambonnay, Verzenay, Ay, Bouzy, and Chardonnay from the Cte des Blancs: Avize, Cramant, Oger, Mesnil sur Oger and Chouilly. It has been bottle aged in cellars for almost eight years before being disgorged prior to release.

The initial aroma is marked by an attractive fruity character which then evolves displaying notes of ripe fruits and honey. As it's character is gradually revealed, there is a sense of complexity, depth of flavour and a still youthful freshness, typical of the 2002 vintage. The long finish is marked by persistent notes of yellow stone fruits. Now with a few more years age since release it is starting to show some lovely brle and more complex nutty characters. From such a top notch vintage there is no rush to drink this champagne, it will continue to improve for many more years.

“50% Chardonnay, 50% Pinot Noir. RS 8 g/l.
Tasted blind. Deeper gold than most. Quite broad and even oaky sort of Bollinger style. Quite evolved aromatically with a hint of cheesiness. Bone dry on the end. Seems as though it is just losing a bit of fruit in the middle. Falls off very slightly on the end, but compared with the others there is good energy and I ended up upgrading it from 16.5. Very slightly bitter finish.”
