Description & Technical Information
-
Palmer collection champagnes are made from the grapes of a single exceptional year. A prestigious collection of vintage champagnes, all of which are safeguarded in their 18-meter-deep chalk cellars. Each Collection is unique and possesses the distinctive, imitable qualities of that year’s outstanding grapes. These wines are elevated to their fullest expression through the know how, the experience of Palmer & Co and of course through the time factor, so closely connected to the inimitable Palmer style. Palmer Blanc de Blancs is created from Chardonnay grapes sources mainly from the magnificent terroirs of Villers-Marmery and Trépail. The fruits from these two terriors are blended with Chardonnay from Côte de Sézanne. The cuvées have been selected by cellar master Xavier Berdin and Palmer's four oenologists for their superior quality and ageing potential. Started in 1947 when Palmer was established, the Collection Range include some of the best vintages of the last 40 years: 1998, 1996, 1988, 1981, 1979 & 1976.

Palmer ID: L21295 | Each bottle of Palmer & Co can be identified by the ID on the back label. This enables you to discover the story of that very bottle. You can do so using the smartphone App or on the Palmer & Co website.

The bottles, magnums, and larger formats, are stored upside down in our cellars for twenty years or more. The very long ageing process gives an intense and complex character to these great wines while at the same time ensuring that they remain remarkably fresh to the palate

Weather in 1997: The critical stages of the vine’s development were disrupted by rain. A fairly good and supple vintage, 1997 produced well-matured champagnes. 1997 is a successfull Vintage for Chardonnay with nice fruit, acidity and structure. Collection Vintage 1997 is animated by a vibrant and very clear freshness.
