“Disgorged early 2018. Stocks are just coming to an end. According to Chef de Cave Regis Camus 2002 is a vintage with lots of richness. Rich because of 2001. ‘In 2002 there were two vintages in one which explains its richness.’
The mousse seems less fine than the old Charles Heidsiecks we have just been tasting. Straw gold. Intense and rather Dom Pérignon-like on the nose. Then on the palate it’s amazingly rich and tropical. Before slimming down into the corset of freshness. Lots of potential and tight and tense.”

“Super stylish, toasty nose with lovely floral and gunpowdery tones as well as tropical fruit, orange peel and candy notes. Super linear, driven, energetic palate which huge intensity and richness. Drinking perfectly today with lot’s of delicious ageing elements but very much in the fresh and vibrant side. This is a serial winner, we chose it as the Best Champagne at FINE Champagne magazine in 2011. ”

“This is top Champagne from Piper-Heidsieck, offering the delicious airy quality that's the hallmark of this house, with crisp apple flavour, tangy acidity and the first signs of yeasty, toasty bottle age. Its fruit intensity has transformed into a splendid selection. It's worth aging for a few more years, though also delicious now.

“Light yellow-gold. Pungent aromas of lemon zest, orange and pear, complicated by sexy floral and gingerbread qualities and hints of toasty lees and honey. Lively on entry, with lively citrus flavors, then deeper and smokier in the middle palate, offering juicy orchard fruit and honeyed nut flavors and good mineral snap. The finish lingers with suave floral and spice notes and excellent persistence. ”
