Description & Technical Information
-
Produced each year from 95% first pressing of the grapes, the colour comes from 15% of the Pinot Noir sourced from Ambonnay, Bouzy and Les Riceys which is fermented on the skins and added back into the blend to produce its robust pink colour and red berry aromatics. Prior to release, Taittinger Brut Réserve NV is aged for 3-4 years giving the wine depth whilst allowing the component parts to become fully integrated.

Technical Information:
Vineyards: 100% Grand & Premier Cru | 50% Taittinger Estate | Over 35 Crus
Grape Varieties: 30% Chardonnay, 45% Pinot Noir, 25% Pinot Meunier
Ageing: 3-4 years on the lees
Dosage: 9 g/l

Tasting Note: Renowned for its bright pink colour with a consistent and fine lingering mousse. The nose is light and delicate with hints of peach and lemon with underlying hints of raspberry and redcurrant from the red wine contribution to the champagne. On the palate it has considerable depth, yet is quite light in style with a subtle elegance and a long fresh finish. A great non-vintage brut rose.

“70% Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, 30% Chardonnay. Prettily pale. After so many still rosés playing the fruit card, seems unfruity. Relatively austere, stony aroma. But then a real vinous intensity on the palate, with depth and refinement.”
