Piper-Heidsieck Cuvee Brut NV - £38.00
Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims give the structure and the Chardonnay from la Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims expresses the elegance and charm of the vintage. Cuvée Brut is a round and vibrant non-vintage Cuvée Brut recalling the rich variety of its blend of 100 crus from across Champagne. 50% Pinot Noir, 30% Meunier, 20% Chardonnay.
Leclerc Briant Brut Reserve NV - £50.00
The goal at the House of Leclerc Briant is to create and market unique champagnes with an innovative style through a combination of meticulous attention to detail in both the vineyard and the winery, together with the utmost care of, and respect for, Mother Nature and the Terroirs. This is one of those champagnes they declare as non-vintage yet it is all from a single year currently 2014 and 5% of the grape juice was fermented in oak barrel. 40% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay, 40% Meunier.
Delamotte Blanc de Blancs NV - 54.00
The grapes for the Delamotte Blanc de Blancs NV are from only Grand Cru villages of the Côte des Blancs, and that chalky character from the soils is quite evident in the champagne. Always fermented in stainless-steel tanks and at least four years on the lees prior to riddling and disgorgement the champagnes reflect that more steely and linear profile. This long lees time allows the wine time to mellow both structurally and aromatically, creating extremely unique flavours.
Drappier Millesime Exception 2013 - 58.00
The Millesime Expection is the vintage cuvee of Drappier, created from individual years of exceptional quality. Half of the wines are aged in older oak barrels and it all completes the malolactic fermentation, help to create the soft creamy texture as the vineyard soils are Jurassiic Kimmeridgian limestone another factor helping to encourage the minerality element in the champagne. 60% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay.
Devaux Cuvee D Rose NV - 62.00
The Cuvee 'D' wines are Devaux's best wines; the grapes are the very best quality of Champagne, and so the growers are paid accordingly. Devaux are Rosé specialists. The majority of their vineyards are located in the Aube where Pinot Noir is the dominant variety. This location, on the slopes of the Côte des Bars, is important; it gives a lovely richness on the nose and a long finish. Uniquely, almost half of this blend is Chardonnay, giving a delicacy not usually found in most Rosés. The high quality of the fruit from these vineyards ensure that the final dosage is lower than many Rosés. Base wine 2013. 47% Chardonnay | 53% Pinot Noir.
Charles Heidsieck Brut Rose NV - £66.00
Charles Heidsieck Rose NV is created from 80% of the year's wines, composed of equal portions of Meunier, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, while the 20% of reserve wines are made up of 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Chardonnay. Each are vinified cru by cru, varietal by varietal, in stainless steel vats. To ensure the ideal balance of freshness and elegance on one hand and structure and complexity on the other, the Cellar Master bides by a House principle, intentionally selecting reserve wines that are younger than those of the Brut Reserve. The red reserve wines, from leading Pinot Noir terroirs, date from up to 5 years before the last harvest. Just 5% of red wine is added to bring the colour and a tiny hint of red wine fruit character. 36% Chardonnay, 36% Pinot Noir, 28% Meunier.
