Roebuck Estates are an award-winning English sparkling wines producer, with vineyards across the beautiful County of Sussex. Born out of a passion for great wines and a desire to champion homegrown English produce, they offer a wide variety of individual sparkling wines made with meticulous care and attention, using a harmonious blend of classic Champagne grape varieties.
The vineyards that make up Roebuck Estates are situated in the beautiful county of Sussex, near the picturesque market town of Petworth. Roebuck Estates produce premium quality traditional-method English sparkling wines by using estate-grown fruit in combination with terrific winemaking to create wonderfully individual award-winning wines.
Winemaking: Carefully selected bunches were gently whole bunch pressed and partially fermented in old Burgundian barrels before a minimum of three years lees ageing in bottle. A splash of Pinot Precoce was added as a still red wine at disgorgement giving a pale pink tone and attractive wild berry aromatics to this wine. Don't be surprised about its pale appearance, it is rose, with just the hint of pink.
Weather: The 2016 growing season took a little time to really get going but by mid-July things had picked up and the sunshine continued almost unabated until harvest. The small but perfectly formed bunches were allowed to bask in a long Indian summer and achieve full ripeness with excellent phenolics – the building blocks for some great wines. By harvest time, the fruit was ripe with perfect acids and we could be incredibly exact on picking dates.

“Quite a complex, delicate nose with a bright, fruity finish. Clean and fresh. Very precise indeed. Zesty and well made. Really obviously English and (I nearly wrote 'but'!) a very fine young fizz with, indeed, exuberant red-berry flavours. Really clean finish, even if not desperately persistent.”
