“Magnum release (always four to five years later than the bottle release). Blend of 60% 2007 with 20% each of 2006 and 2004. 55% Chardonnay and 45%
Pinot Noir. What a difference from the No 24 in bottle, released in 2019 and tasted two years ago! Much, much more evolved on the nose than the bottle release. Golden-creamy somehow. Just gorgeous! Tight-knit, like all Grands Siècles, with strong citrus notes, a certain toastiness and a richness on the mid palate that tightens to a dry, appetising finish. Really vigorous and assertive without being too showy. Long and the most luxurious aperitif imaginable.”

“Magnum It. No. 24 - This has smoky reductive charm that layer of gunflint sits above the fruit, bundles of citrus, ripe lemon & grapefruit, some orange and lime. The PN comes more in the palate structure, some great bright dried strawberry, dried plum and bright citrus finish. The orange lingers, attractive candied orange skin, which adds a bitter twist. The dried fruits really come forward with a few minutes in the glass and hints of buttery pastry just starting to show. Very classy, super refreshing. Drink now to 2035+”

“Mag | Laurent-Perrier’s NV Itération 24 Magnum Brut reveals a complex, deep bouquet of white flowers, confit citrus, mirabelle, spices, menthol and warm biscuits. This full-bodied, enveloping and fleshy Champagne offers a deep, dense mid-palate that is invigorated by racy acidity and concludes with a long, endless and ethereal finish. Slightly more austere and tense than the Brut Grand Siècle #24 released in a bottle, this magnum blend consists of 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir, with vintages from 2007 (60%), 2006 (20%) and 2004 (20%).”

“Mag | The NV Grande Cuvée Grand Siècle No. 24. (magnum) is fascinating to taste next to the 750ml bottle, both disgorged in June 2024. It is fresher in its aromatics and flavor profile and also silkier in texture. Tasting the two formats side by side is illuminating. Citrus confit, white flowers, chalk, mint and dried herbs are all beautifully delineated. I won't be surprised if this improves with more time on the cork, as it was disgorged less than a year ago.”

“Consisting of 60% of the 2007 vintage, 20 % each of the 2006 and 2004 vintages, it is a mature-"ie gold in colour, with a fabulously intense bouquet that's lightly smoky and truffly, seriously complex and savoury. You could keep sniffing ad nauseam but the bubbles beckon, and in them you find a mousse that's fresh and expansive, whose textural quality brings a remarkable persistence of flavour, dissolving on the tongue in a flourish of citrus, a hint of honey and mature, savoury, truffly notes. It remains remarkably fresh, especially noting that the trio of vintages are 17, 18 and 20 years old”

“Bottle. The 24th iteration of Grand Siècle since the 1960s, now signalled with a ‘24’ on the bottle neck. 60% 2007, 20% 2006, 20% 2004, launched now. Mostly Chardonnay (55%) and Pinot Noir (45%), all grand cru. Disgorged October 2018 after 10 years on lees. Dosage 7 g/l.
Deep greenish yellow. Creamy, oaked Chardonnay sort of nose recalls white burgundy. Much richer than the Blanc de Blancs of course but with the same tight texture and filigree mousse. Firm and noble.”

“Laurent-Perrier's NV Grande Cuvée Grand Siècle No. 24 is just starting to show the first signs of aromatic and flavor complexity, which makes it a very satisfying Champagne for current drinking. Hints of apricot, lemon confit, white flowers and marzipan grace this wonderfully vibrant, inviting edition of Grand Siècle built on the 2007, 2006 and 2004 vintages. The Grande Cuvée No. 24 is silky, perfumed and classy all the way. Time in the glass brings out the wine's freshness and energy.”

“A tiny bit less powerful on the nose than the No 25. And then richer on the palate. It came out on the nose in the end but needs time. It should have a nice long life because the relatively austere 2007 is dominant. Drink 2023– 2032

“Classic L-P benchmark fragrant gunpowdery toastiness on the nose that opens up with honey, ginger, lemon, lilies and marengue notes. Still reserved and highly youthful in magnum and keeping very fresh and zingy in 75cl bottle too. Lovely evolution and integrated richness on the refined, creamy-caressing palate. A class act.”

“Glass clear and sublime, with a classic Grand Siècle repertoire of aromas and textures. Despite the fact that 2007 is a less interesting year, one has got a fantastic genuine balance and sober style.”

“A blend of the 2007, 2006 and 2004 vintages, beginning to drink well, offering up a complex and already maturing bouquet of dried flowers, mandarin orange, iodine, gingerbread, clear honey and smoke. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, fleshy and vibrant, with an ample core of fruit complemented by abundant sapid nuances, bright acids and a fine but youthfully frothy mousse. This is an expressive rendition of Grand Siècle that will drink well on release”
