Champagne to Celebrate an 18th Birthday – Vintage 2007

Turning 18 is a truly special occasion. And one’s first (legal, let’s be honest) drink of alcohol should also be truly special: like a glass of vintage 2007 champagne. Mostly a warm year, 2007 was characterised by unexpected major weather events. A warm spring was followed by a cool summer, although the end of the ripening process was excellent, with harvests taking place in ideal conditions.

Gosset Celebris 2007
Gosset Celebris is the star of the Gosset range and the House prestige cuvée, produced only in exceptional years. The malic acid, skilfully preserved, gives freshness and elegance to this great cuvée, vintages of which will be enjoyed for several decades to come.

Charles Blanc des Millenaires 2007
Pure Chardonnay from just five different Crus: Avize for verve and minerality; Cramant for complexity and ageability; Le Mesnil-sur-Oger for balance; Oger for creaminess and weight; and Vertus for floral freshness. An absolute masterpiece from the Côte des Blancs, this cuvée spends more than fifteen years maturing in the heart of Charles Heidsieck’s two-thousand-year-old chalk cellars. Anne Krebiehl MW 98/100

Bollinger R.D. 2007
An expert wine with aromas enhanced by its exceptionally long maturation in the Bollinger family cellars – more than three times longer than required.

Dom Ruinart Rose 2007
Dom Ruinart Rosé is a Grand Cru only blend of Dom Ruinart Chardonnay topped off with 15-20% red wine from the Montagne de Reims. Since the first vintage in 1966, this cuvée is consistently ranked amongst the greatest rosés on the market.

Louis Roederer Cristal 2007
Cristal is, widely recognised as the world’s most awarded prestige cuvée champagne. Cristal 2007 has already surpassed its prequel and may just well go on to be one of the all-time greats.

Champagne to Celebrate a 21st Birthday – Vintage 2004

Another momentous birthday. The 2004 vintage saw an initial winter of mild temperatures with intermittent storms and hail. The spring and summer months were hot and sunny and the sugar levels late in September produced good quality fruits. A huge harvest in general for the region. Overall many experts believe that 2004 is one of the greatest vintages of the last two decades.

Lanson Noble Blanc de Blancs 2004
Lanson’s prestige cuvée is produced from a careful selection of grapes from Grand Cru rated vineyards only. The very essence of the Lanson style, Noble embodies all the fruity, grape-flavour freshness so characteristic of the House.

Bollinger La Grande Annee 2004
La Grande Année – ‘The Great Year’ – a name simple enough to illustrate its exceptional status, because only truly extraordinary years become vintage at Bollinger. This vintage is entirely fermented in oak barrel and is produced from thirteen crus: 95% Grand Cru and 5% Premier Cru.

Dom Perignon Vintage 2004
The 2004 vintage leaves its mark on the history of Dom Pérignon for its ease and generosity. Dom Pérignon 2004 is a natural sum of perfectly consistent parts.

Pol Roger Sir Winston Churchill 2004
In 1975, Pol Roger went one step further and named their prestige cuvée after Sir Winston Churchill, producing it in the robust and mature style that he liked so much. The exact composition of this cuvée is a family secret but it is likely that Pinot Noir dominates 70-80% of the blend with the remainder being Chardonnay. Jancis Robinson MW 19/20

Laurent Perrier Alexandra Rose 2004
This unique prestige cuvée rosé is only created in years when the Grand Cru grapes of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay reach maturity at the same time. Laurent-Perrier Alexandra Rosé 2004 marks the seventh vintage release since the launch of Alexandra Rosé 1982 in 1987 and is the first vintage in which magnums have been produced.

Louis Roederer Late Release Rose 1995
A rosé created by a long, gentle infusion of Pinot noir that extracts its juicy ripeness while preserving its tremendous saline freshness. In this process, some Chardonnay juices are added to the Pinot noir maceration, to ferment together and achieve the perfect integration of the two grape varieties.
