Christmas Special Offers: Non-Vintage Bottles and Magnums

For this week’s Christmas special offers, we’re promoting non-vintage champagne. With five of the region’s most popular brands on promotion at up to 27% off, this week is a great opportunity to try something new.

Since we love drinking champagne from magnum (the evolution of the champagne slows in the larger format, adding complexity and keeping the champagne fresher for longer), this week we have both BOTTLES AND MAGNUMS on offer for Bollinger, Charles Heidsieck and Pol Roger. If you’ve yet to experience the magic of magnums, be sure to try your favourite champagne from the larger format and witness a real Christmas miracle this festive season!

Non-Vintage Champagne

Non-vintage is the most traditional champagne and accounts for 90% of the region’s production. A blend of multiple varieties, vintages and reserve wines, the idea is to assemble a consistent wine every year that reflects the house style. Minimum ageing for non-vintage champagnes is 15 months, although in reality most are cellared for 2-3 years. For more information, check out our Making of Champagne guide. Mixing cases and taking advantage of our 6 bottle pricing is a great way to try multiple house styles.

Bollinger Special Cuvée NV
60% PN, 25% CH, 15% PM | Reserve Wine: 10% | Lees Ageing: 3 Years | Dosage: 7 g/l
“Lots of evolution on the nose. Lively and complete. Ready now. Fresh and well balanced. Complete.” – Jancis Robinson MW 17/20

Charles Heidsieck Brut Réserve NV
15% off Bottles, just £39.95
5% off Magnums, just £96.95

Charles Heidsieck Brut Réserve NV
40% PN, 40% CH, 20% PM | Base Vintage: 2010 | Reserve Wine: 40% | Lees Ageing: 5 Years | Disgorged: 2016 | Dosage: 10 g/l | Post-Disgorgement Ageing: 2 Years
“Extremely powerful nose powers out of the glass! A certain sweet creaminess on the nose. Really quite rich. Very much more rounded and welcoming than the blend based on 2008. Not that many houses have a seven-year-old NV on the market! Real bullseye for the Charles style. Tastes readier than the 2008 base – a real standout.” – Jancis Robinson MW 17/20

Pol Roger Brut Réserve NV
20% off Bottles, just £35.95
5% off Magnums, just £92.95

Pol Roger Brut Réserve NV
33% PN, 33% CH, 33% PM | Reserve Wine: 20-30% | Lees Ageing: 3 Years | Dosage: 9 g/l
“Quite rich on the nose – and palate. Good balance though. Do they make Pure (tasted just before) just to show us the virtues of the regular cuvée?!” – Jancis Robinson MW 16.5/20

12% off Moët & Chandon Impérial NV, just £36.95
22% off Taittinger Brut Réserve NV, just £31.95

Moët & Chandon Impérial NV
40% PM, 30% PN, 30% CH | Lees Ageing: 3 Years | Dosage: 9 g/l
“Much much fresher, brisker, drier and more focussed on the palate than of old but still has a certain breadth on the nose. This new cuvée (with a pale mushroom label) has a dosage of only 9 g/l (much lower than it used to be) and they claim that it is given 24 months on lees before three months in bottle after disgorgement. Most unfortunately I have no way of knowing whether every single one of the 20 million bottles of this wine taste as good as this … but my particular bottle certainly deserves the enthusiastic score.” – Jancis Robinson MW 16.5/20
Taittinger Brut Réserve NV
40% PM, 30% PN, 30% CH | Lees Ageing: 3 Years | Dosage: 9 g/l
“Tasted blind. Overall score placed it fourth out of 12 wines. Light straw. Sweetish nose – one of the few! Candied violets on the nose. Light and off dry. Quite chunky, lime-marmalade impression. Not much undertow. Good texture and refreshment value on the finish. A little chew on the end. Lots of acidity underneath.” – Jancis Robinson MW 16/20

We have offers on both bottles and magnums this week – why not try a larger format this Christmas!
