Club Oenologique have released the second part of 2024 Champagne Report alongside Essi Avellan MW. The first part Grower Champagne report 2024 can be viewed here.
The report spans from Non-Vintages to recent releases. Tasting notes and scores from Club Oenologique’s Champagne Report 2024 (featuring only those wines scoring 88 points and above). This year, late-disgorged prestige cuvées with significant lees-ageing times excelled in the tastings, the dynamic yet complicated Blanc de Noirs category came with delightful novelties and the ever-improving Rosé Champagne category boasts some of the region’s ultimate wines.
Starting from the very top, Essi Avellan MW awarded 99 points to two wines in this Report, with both Dom Perignon P2 2006 and Laurent-Perrier Grand Siecle Iteration 20 in magnum reaching great heights, both wines delivering big on drinking pleasure right now. Last year Dom Ruinart 2010 was at the top of her Report scoring 98 points; this year Dom Ruinart 2013 is right up in the mix.
