Wednesday 24th February 2016, an evening hosted at Fredericks by The Finest Bubble. Once again an array of guests came to enjoy the delights that is contained within a sparkling wine bottle, 25 champagnes, 2 magnums and 6 top English sparkling wines were on show. New releases such as Louis Roederer Blanc de Blancs 2009 and Pol Roger 2006 received great compliments and were both highly rated. We have recently added a few standout English sparkling wines to our lists and these were well received within a room full of well established
French counterparts, with many commenting that it will be interesting to see how good the English sparkling can become in the next few years. Some of the standout champagnes were Laurent-Perrier 2006, Bollinger La Grande Année Rose 2005, Charles Heidsieck Blanc de Millénaires 1995 and Krug Grande Cuvée NV. Fredericks provided fabulous canapés which complimented the wines perfectly and in itself became a talking point.
Due to the large success and great feedback we have received, we’ve already added another two tastings to our calendar in June and October, so something to put in the diary. These tastings will run in the same format and provide the opportunity to taste many different champagnes and vintages all in one room. It will be interesting to see how the progress of the vintages develop over the next few months and whether our guests can spot any improvements and developments.
