The Finest Bubble invited Jancis Robinson MW to a blind tasting of a variety of English sparkling wines, 23 in total. “The 23 wines were divided into three flights, one Blanc de Blancs and two similar flights of other English sparkling wines based on Chardonnay and the two Pinots. As usual, I welcomed the chance to taste these wines blind”
Highly rated “Hambledon Première Cuvée was a stand out” – scoring a high 17/20, Jancis comments “Assertive. Long and reverberant. I think it will get there and have a long life.”
A few others that stood out alongside three Champagnes also tasted were, Herbert Hall Traditional Brut and Hambledon Classic Cuvée NV.
