Jancis Robinson MW recently travelled to Champagne Krug to taste the delightful new release of 2002 vintage. In a write up for her website www.jancisrobinson.com she tells her story and gives us an insight into the fundamental philosophy at this great Champagne house. Having visited Krug in the past she recollects with memories and uses them in comparison to her most recent invite to the house.
Highlighting Champagne Krug’s emphasis on technology she explains that by using the Krug ID app, was able to know that a bottle of Krug Grande Cuvée NV was a blend “based on the 2007 vintage that had aged for seven years in the cellar with a total of 183 ingredients from 12 vintages dating back to the exceptional 1990.”
