Louis Jadot Beaune Premier Cru Clos des Ursules Monopole des Héritiers Louis Jadot 200th Anniversary Tasting at Petrusby Gordan Ramsay 15th April 2026 Hosted by Thibault Gagey
Beaune overview: 42 premier crus, 300 hectares of vines and Clos des Ursules one of these 1er cru. The Jadot vineyards, since 2024, achieved organic certification.
Louis Jadot bought the monopole in 1826 the smallest 1er cru at 1.26 ha facing east with clay dominant soils of around 70 cms on top of the bedrock with the vineyard split into three zones by ages of vine; 30yo, 50yo and 75yo vines. Having tasted six vintages of the clos back to 1964 its obvious these wines are age worthy and with real elegance.
Louis Jadot Beane 1er Crus Greves Le Clos Blanc 2020
Definitely see the richer soils here, a big powerhouse of fruit wrapped up in oak charm, slightly less acidity indicative of the hot summer. 17/20
Louis Jadot Beaune 1er Cru Bressandes Blanc 2019
At top of hill so thin soils, you feel more of the mineral character, slightly cooler year, though still hot, this has elegance and loads more salinity and mid palate lift. Deliciously refreshing with power and lightness. 17+/20

Very youthful fruit leaps out, its quite a mouthful with a strong textural lift, plenty of acidty keeps it fresh and light oak, all comes together well with enough grip on the tannins to give structure. Feels like it wants drinking in 5+ years. 17++/20
Louis Jadot Clos des Ursules 2013 Magnum
Cool year, frost and ended with small yields. Seductive fruit, on the delicate side, is the magnum slowing this down, feels quite tight and plenty of grip here, love the delicate red fruit; dried raspberry to dark cherry. Very pretty fruit. 17.5/20
Louis Jadot Clos des Ursules 2005
Great growing conditions and Thibault confidently says the best in the 2000 decade. The most beautiful dark fruits, loads of flavours, from cherry to darker berries. This has tannins more silky, super elegant. Some light touches of oak and chocolate and zingy cherry fruits. Mouthwatering and fresh. 18+/20 – I need this in my cellar!
Louis Jadot Clos des Ursules 1997
One of Jacques Lardier’s greatest vintages as winemaker, he retired in 2012. Thibault remember the story of Jadot being the last to pick and of course they lost some volume, but gained quality and ripeness. Loads of dried red fruits, hints of chocolate and oak a background twist. Love the texture here, tannin has grip, but loads of juicy fruit. 18/20
Louis Jadot Clos des Ursules 1979
Not an easy climate year. Very much in the dried, concentrated fruit library of aromas, loads of dried cherry, dates, blackberry, cranberry, a potpourri of petals and spices all wrapped up in a super velvety texture. Aged, but oh so elegant and young for its age. 18.5/20
Louis Jadot Clos des Ursules 1964
Tough year, time when severe winters with 60 cms of snow in Beaune. An interesting journey here, feels awkward and edging tcs, then it lifts up into something so glorious! Full on potpourri, hint of bret, and a velvety palate with plenty of juiciness. Sensational 18/20
