This weeks edition of The Friday Bubble, Pierre Peters Cuvée de Reserve Blanc de Blancs. Made from a blend of 2018 Chardonnay from top villages in the Côte des Blancs, mainly in the home village of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. The wine remains in tank on lees until the assemblage, the spring following the harvest, when 50% reserve wines were added to the blend. The reserve wines come from Rodolphe’s ‘perpetual reserve’ which was founded on the 1988, 1990, 1993 and 1996 harvests, though today only a small percentage of those vintages would remain in the reserve. These reserve wines are stored in a combination of large wooden barrels (foudres), concrete and stainless steel vats.

92/100 Antonio Galloni
“The NV Brut Cuvée de Réserve Grand Cru is fabulous. A Champagne of tension and energy, the Cuvée de Réserve has real presence, not to mention tons of class. Citrus, jasmine, mint and crushed rocks are some of the many nuances that race out of the glass. In this release, the Cuvée de Réserve has a light tropical quality that is both exotic and hugely appealing.”
