Tasting Event 19th September – Photographs

The theme at our third Champagne range tasting of the year was  ‘Bottle vs Magnum’. TFB is a huge promoter of the 1.5L magnum as format for drinking and ageing Champagne. Aesthetically pleasing, efficient for pouring and impressive to guests. Whilst the magnum’s boastful popularity has continued into the modern day (particularly with the night-club generation of the late twentieth century), the taste difference between wine aged in bottle and wine aged in magnum (sparkling wine especially) has been largely forgotten. We gave guests an opportunity to taste the same champagne, mainly NV’s side by side in both formats… with a marked difference! The standouts were Bollinger Special Cuvée NV 1.5L, Piper-Heidsieck Cuvée Essentiel NV 1.5L and Louis Roederer Brut Premier NV 3L Jeroboam (we managed to sneak this into the line up!)

We love to see new and familiar faces at our events, join us for our last range tasting of 2019. Tickets for Wednesday 13th November are on sale here.
