The Finest Bubble launch night on 27th November 2014 was a huge success: held at Moët Hennessy’s London office in Grosvenor Gardens, over 50 guests took part in a unique tasting experience of 5 prestige Champagnes from the 1998 vintage, as Richard Bampfield MW walked us through their differences.
The five Champagnes were: Dom Ruinart Blanc de Blancs 1998, Dom Pérignon 1998, Dom Pérignon P2 1998, Krug 1998 and Veuve Clicquot La Grade Dame Rosé 1998.
Prior to the 1998 tasting with Richard, guests were able to taste the current vintages: Dom Ruinart Blanc de Blancs 2004, Dom Pérignon 2004, Krug 2003, Krug Grande Cuvée and Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame 2004.
In part three, Richard begins by explaining the plénitude concept; the ‘life-cycles’ that Dom Pérignon experiences.
He then walks guests though this rare opportunity to taste the two (the original 1998 release and the Plénitude 2 1998), side-by-side, exploring how the extra nine years aging on the lees has affected this Dom Pérignon vintage.
