Taylors Overview
Weather: After a cool summer (without any real heat in July or August), the grapes were still green and backward when picking began around 20th September. Both yields and sugar levels were low. Many picked too early (fearing a repeat of the rains which had marred the latter part of the previous three vintages) however warm weather continued into October and, unusually, the best grapes with higher sugar readings were picked last.
Tasting Note: A broad amber colour. On the nose: a complex variety of pistachio and toasted sesame. On the palate: hints of menthol and liquorice root notes with an abundance of nuttiness. A remarkably long finish mixed with more spice and walnut flavours.
Presented in a magnificent branded wooden box, Taylor's Single Harvest Port 1967 is the perfect 50th birthday present.

“This draws you in, with aromas of warm halva and toasted pistachio giving way to a wide range of buckwheat, toasted sesame, walnut husk, menthol and licorice root notes that refuse to break down in the mouth. Exhibits remarkable length, with ample viscosity matched by steely tension, putting this in rarefied air.”

“This 1967 is part of Taylor Fladgate’s regular releases of aged Colheita. It is showing a perfect moment in which the fruit finally passes into old gold maturity. The wine still has hints of sultanas, but now it’s the fine wood and spice character that is equally important.”
Bought directly from Taylor's through their UK agent Mentzendorff, this is currently held in bond at Vinotheque in Burton-On-Trent, where it is cellared in ideal conditions and for same day deliveries small quantities are held in our London offices in a top of the range Eurocave
