Description & Technical Information
-
These champagne stoppers, also known as bouchons, are great at preserving champagne after opening a bottle. If the bottle remains half or more full these stoppers are great at keeping the champagne fresh for up to 7 days. If there is less than a third of a bottle we recommend keeping it for just 2-3 days. There maybe slight loss of bubbles, but the champagne will remain in great condition. The French call these bouchon.

Remember if you use a stopper there will be a pressure build up in the bottle, please open with caution as if it were a cork. Bottles that are re-sealed with a stopper and are at least half full can surprise you with the pressure build up.

We always recommend champagne is opened 1-2 hours before you want to drink it, simple open the bottle and leave it open in the fridge either with or without the stopper. This will significantly improve your enjoyment of the champagne as they need time after opening to show their full aromatics.

To appreciate the aromatics you need good glassware, champagne flutes or coups wont allow you to enjoy any of the aromatics, we recommend the hand-made mouth blown Lehmann Grand Champagne P. Jamesse Ultra Light glass one of the best all round champagne glasses.

Never bother with a spoon in the neck of a bottle, that is a myth and doesn't work.
