The House of Louis Jadot has been producing exceptional Burgundy wines since its founding in 1859 by Louis Henry Denis Jadot. For the past 150 years Louis Jadot has continued as one of the great names of Burgundy and has gained international reputation for its superb red and white Burgundy wines. Louis Jadot is not only one of the largest producers of estate Burgundies of the Cote d'Or, it is one of the most celebrated exporters of premium Burgundies, owning close to 140 acres of vineyards from 24 of the most prestigious sites in Burgundy.
Location: Meursault is the centre of the four communes (Meursault, Blagny, Chassagne and Puligny) comprising that part of the Côte de Beaune known as the Côte des Blancs, named for the quality and predominance of its white wines.
Vineyard: The vineyards are spread over gentle slopes, between 230 and 360 metres above sea level. The eastern orientation is ideal, allowing maximum sunlight. Chalky soils with white marl is best suited to the Chardonnay grape. The Premier Cru Meursault Perrières appellation applies to white wines only.
Vinification & Maturation: Grapes are harvested by hand and put in small cases in order not to damage the fruits. Grapes are pressed softly, they ferment in oak barrels produced by the CADUS cooperage. 1/3 are new barrels. Aging usually lasts 15 months on fine lies before bottling.
Weather in 2015: A slow start gave way to a hot, dry growing season with rapid flowering and an early harvest. Despite some drought stress and low red yields, grapes were well balanced—especially whites with striking acidity—making 2015 a great vintage for both reds and whites.

Tasting Note: The 2015 Meursault 1er Cru Perrières boasts the finest and most sophisticated bouquet among Jadot's premier cru Meursaults: scents of yellow plum, dandelion, sunflower seeds and lemon curd. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, good weight in the mouth, though it needs more acidity to cut through the richness on the finish. I suspect this will gain more tension by the time of bottling. - Tasting note by Neal Martin
