Description & Technical Information
-
Domaines Ott was founded in 1912 by Alsatian engineer Marcel Ott. Today, the wineries are owned and managed by Champagne Louis Roederer, producing some of the world’s most prestigious wines. These wines are made at three distinctively different estates: Château Romassan (Bandol), Clos Mireille and Château de Selle (both Côtes de Provence).

Clos Mireille is an ancient terrain distinguished for its combination of schists and clays, and by an absence of limestone. The vineyard’s proximity to the sea explains the inimitable character of the wines produced at Clos Mireille. The microclimate and sea spray create the ideal conditions for the production of extremely rare wines. Clos Mireille has 124 acres of planted vineyards.

Technical Information:
Vineyards: Clos Mireille
Grape Varities: 69% Grenache, 24% Cinsault, 12% Syrah and 2% Rolle
Drink: Now to 2026

Tasting Note: The elegant and delicate bouquet develops aromas of candied melon and citrus zest, both fresh and heady. On the palate, bursts of fruity redcurrant notes. The seductive balance is a vibrant tribute to the Clos Mireille terroir, combining the generosity of precise ripeness with the crisp freshness of summer fruits, such as apricot and peach.

Josh Raynolds
“Pale orange. Displays an array of intensely perfumed red berry and citrus fruit aromas. Along with suggestions of honeysuckle, nectarine and fennel. Juicy and seamless in texture, giving deep pit fruit and raspberry flavors and a bracing touch of orange pith. Echoes the floral note on a wonderfully long, smooth finish that leaves a hint of honey behind.”

“Very stylish, with underlying richness to the mix of wet hay, white peach, lemon pith and pink grapefruit. Reveals a late twinge of fleur de sel, which keeps everything honest through the lengthy finish. Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah.”
